Pay Grade PS1/2 (£17,833 FTE /£340 per week)

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a school or college leaver aged 17+ to undertake a Facilities Services Operative Apprenticeship within our Trust. Our Apprenticeship scheme provides the perfect way to earn a wage while you gain vital work experience and a nationally recognised qualification. You will be fully supported and mentored through your apprenticeship and given protected time to complete your course work. The role will be carried out effectively within a set time frame and on successful completion of the programme you will obtain a Level 2 certificate in Facilities Services principles.

There are no formal qualifications required but you will need to have a minimum standard of Level 1 English and Maths (comparable to GCSE 1-3) in order to cope with the requirements of this programme. If you don’t already have a Level 2 English and/or maths qualification (comparable to GCSE 4 and above), we will train and support you to achieve this as part of your programme. As much of this programme is delivered online, you should be comfortable using IT.

We are seeking to appoint someone who can demonstrate a willingness to learn, have a positive approach to work and the ability to work well within a team. This post will be based at St Andrew’s Primary School in Cobham, however you will be required to move from one site to another and work at other schools across the Trust so you must have a full driving licence or be learning to drive and have access to your own transport.

We offer a full induction programme for all new staff and benefits include:

Local Government Pension Scheme, Free parking

My Staff Shop: A reward scheme for employees of Surrey County Council, includes Cycle to Work Scheme, discounts off local shops and cinema tickets etc.

An Employee Assistance Programme (offering around the clock, free, confidential assistance)

We welcome early applications and will consider holding interviews before the closing date for strong candidates.

Closing Date: Monday 10 January 2022 at 8.00 am

Interview Date: Interviews will be held within 2 weeks of closing date

Start Date: As soon as possible
